A Daily Dose of Art: A Stack of Books about Joan Mitchell and Her Art

Today will be a big writing day for an essay about art conservation and Joan Mitchell’s painting Close.

You can see more about the painting and the conservation project in this Instagram post and in this Daily Dose of Art entry.

Below is a stack of most of my Joan Mitchell books that I’ll be dipping into for the next several hours.

I wish I could write a bit about each of these books, but that’s for another day, another place.

While I’m tempted to write a 1500-word essay for these Daily Doses of Art entries, I prefer for that sort of writing to be in books or essays published by other people.

This website is for record-keeping purposes while also inviting others to encounter anything I’ve shared that seems interesting to them. And I’m always interested in what types of art encounters others are having. So please let me know when you feel compelled to do so!

What do you think? Please share your thoughts on this stack of books/topic or a glimpse into one of your recent doses of art in the comments below.
