A Daily Dose of Art: New Orleans Jazz Is the Best Jazz

After a few failed attempts at creating an Instagram caption without typos, I decided to share it below. Maybe I’ll try again over there later today.

Also, New Orleans jazz is the best jazz.

I’ll be listening to the “This Is Preservation Hall Jazz Band” playlist while I’m in one of my favorite cities this week.

Bonus Dose: loving Into the Weeds by Lydia Davis

7 a.m.-ish update:

it will soon be warmer out here than I prefer, but cheers to when you get to tag along for a work trip in New Orleans

and cheers to getting to see hundreds of chimney swifts fly across the morning sky

after it gets too warm, I’ll find somewhere to catch up on some writing, edit podcast episodes, and conduct two interviews for a reported essay about art, faith, and time

I also look forward to driving to Tim’s childhood home and neighborhood and eating my favorite muffaletta

and tracking down the hotel I stayed at almost 30 years ago during my first trip to this city (spring break trip with a friend and her mom when I was in sixth grade) when I first fell in love with this place

What do you think? Please share your thoughts on this playlist/place/topic or a glimpse into one of your recent doses of art in the comments below.
