A Daily Dose of Art: Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl

Today, while traveling to visit my daughter (for what felt like hours and hours and hours on teeny tiny planes), I listened to the new album.

It’s not my favorite. That could change(?), but I like it. It’s growing on me, as many of her albums tend to do.

I love this smart and fantastic review by Ann Powers that actually deals with the actual songs on the actual album.

I prefer to ignore the chitter chatter noise and form my own opinions, but I’m all about good criticism.

I wanted to get some writing and work done while traveling today, but the teeny tiny planes made me feel a bit hemmed in. And there was a mom and a fussy baby beside me for one flight so I just sort of went into meditation/music mode.

The writing and work are still there for me to do in the coming days, but I’m glad I was able to listen to the album a few times through.
